I like the new format, but is there a way to retain the original image aspect ratio?
But some of the pictures looks blurred, especially landscapes. Maybe keeping the aspect ratio and just sizing the pictures would work?
And maybe 2 side by side would work, little bigger and still a lot easier to see what's new.
Looking better now? I can't keep the original image ratio, but I can set them all to 4:3.

I like it.
Maybe you could put a beginning photo thread or two (like before)
below the grid to fill in the dead space.
Also, just FYI, on the dark theme, the green letters in the word Shop barely show
so it looks like "S o our Affiliate Links".
Maybe a lighter green or another color . . .

Larry, Safari doesn't look that way on my Macs. For starters, the fonts are off in your screenshot. The web font isn't loading for some reason, and it's kicking back to Verdana. Are you using any extensions?
No Extensions other than EXIF. I checked another vanilla machine in the office and the look was the same.

I don't know what you all mean by 4 or 6. Do you mean 4 or 6 per row or total?

Right now it is set up for 2 images per row x 5 rows in desktop view with the images in 4:3 aspect ratio (landscape).
On a phone it switches to 1 image per row x 10 rows.

My instinct, based on a long lost background in graphic design :) would be for4 panels in total... a 2 x 2 matrix or a 1 plus 3

I read the site mainly on a 11 inch macbook air, everything beyond 2 rows involves a scroll.. no one scrolls !.. well they do, but the point is you need all the good stuff "above the fold/scroll"

If there was server trickery that randomised or better still did a hit parade style ranking of the threads based on views then that could be fun

OK ... if you are playing around with the home page....vertical space is at a premium... so why does a picture of me and all my stats waste that space in the top right. I know I post after a few drinks, but I never forget who I am :)

On my iMac and 9.7" iPad Pro, I prefer 6.

Sorry, Kevin but everyone scrolls now!
