Interesting color phase of a Northwestern Garter Snake found in my back yard. I'd seen it before, but this time I happened to have a camera in my hand as I was looking for bugs to try out some off camera flash work...

He was quite content to pose for photos. This was taken by putting a 10mm macro extension tube on the Panasonic 100-300mm lens.
