I couldn't find a thread for lichens (or old rugged-and-lichenous crosses), so here we go! In the churchyard at Howmore on South Uist, Scotland:

This cross, in particular, almost seemed to be becoming absorbed organically into the stone wall it was leaning against:

Yes, please do post your lichens. I may not know much about lichens, but I know what I like... and those ones on the cross (as it were) are particularly rampant. Some more subdued ones on a gravestone in Trinity Temple, North Uist:

<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/nL33oqfp_U_jnMNhLDsIdtMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite">

"625" width="800" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/drwhrobertson/Lichen?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite">Lichen</a></td></tr></table>

And, to prove they, and I, don't live only in graveyards, lichen and moss sharing the same stone in an old stone wall:

<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/o_HNd4rZFusSCieKwm6tmdMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite">

"534" width="800" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/drwhrobertson/Lichen?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite">Lichen</a></td></tr></table>

And by way of something different, one from the Lake District:

These were not taken with a m43 camera, it was just a P&S.
Wow, seeing the picture being posted, I feel like... woah back then I used to think that this P&S was pretty good, but it feels like my eyes sharpened up and I am not impressed with the picture.
